Yaaa, It's Rewind Time

I still can’t pull myself out of thinking Will Smith in the 2018 YouTube Rewind, until King Richard. The plot is rather formatted and slow-paced. I appreciate how the movie tried to combine dramatic character development with actual events, but the detailed description lengthens some ordinary events that could be simplified into a few shots.

Especially when I’ve watched Dangal (an extraordinary film that I recommend), King Richard’s storyline is mostly predictable. However, Will Smith does an awesome job depicting a stubborn, strict, and self-centered father figure. His great performance leads me to question if Richard’s method of training is truly moral. Unlike the father of Dangal, who applies his unfinished dream on his daughters, King Richard doesn’t seem to have a convincing motive despite a need for wealth and recognition.

Anyhow, Will Smith really surprised me with his acting, but the movie is average.
