In my view, Richard is a successful father but not a good man.

In the initial period, he told his girls that when you play tennis you should just be for fun. But in the following period, he pretended them to attend matches in order to avoid burning them out. And he told his daughters that they are not just be representing themselves but will be representing every little black girl on earth. Is that just for fun? Is that to pretend to burn out? It’s pretty self-contradictory.

In the training, he disorganized the training plan frequently without letting their coach known in advance. He cannot do whatever he wants, even if it is in the name of love and correction. It’s not stubborn, it’s respectless. He taught his girls to be humble, however he is not humble himself at all.

Richard succeeded because of his gene but not because of his 78 pages of plan.

For me, the bad news is I am a stubborn man while the good news is I respect my wife’s opinion.
