Comparing Kate to John Wick would probably be considered too much of a stretch. Although both involved the ruthless revenge of a lonesome assassin, Kate certainly felt less ironed out with it’s under developed situations, unconvencing characters and awkward dialogs, which constantly broke the illusion. The nice graphic value certainly did not do the job to save the act from falling apart at times. At it’s best it’s a well choreographed film; at it worst it’s just a mush together chimera of loads of popular elements trying to be too many things at once. The runtime certainly needed some trimming as well, for some part of it could’ve benified from leaving the audience with some of their own imagination.
