I really fall for the prologue speech made by Oliver Tate: My Dear Americans, The film you are about to see is a biopic of my life. And during the film, there's something that is referred to the beginning speech." I wish life would be more like American soap operas. Then whenever things get dramatic, you can just fade the picture down and gets up again later." And later when Oliver thought his mother was having something with Graham, who, here, is a symbol of American man, he said " I don't want a misty Ninja to be my stepdad, I don't wanna to be from a broken family like chips when he tracks and tops, sipping cokes and taking gain-weight drugs in shopping malls..." All these teases are all right up my alley.
And the way they filmed the super-8 footage is cool too. And I love the dogs and the seas so much, and the colors that stand for the characters.
