在电影最开始的场景之一中，Summer在地上发现了一张干蛇皮，这不仅呼应了之后出现多次的咬痕，而且还呼应了电影标题及其含义——人具有两面性。电影之所以被称为“爬行动物(Reptile)”，是因为随着角色的逐步介绍，他们的本性发生了变化，刚出场时的人物形象描述地足够克制，乃至刻板，但他们很快就被一一“脱皮”并揭露出另一面目。威尔格雷迪是一个吝啬的银勺黄蜂，“脱皮”后他刺伤他的女友多次；沃利是一个慈父般的扑克脸形象，“脱皮”后却是毒品计划的主要人物；包括警探Nichols看起来铁面严肃不露柔情，其实还痴迷于厨房与水龙头，当然这与前面几人不可相提并论。仔细揣摩你便会发现，片中几乎所有主要角色的形象都具有两面性，电影的节奏与表现手法也如冷血动物般冷静，像蛇一样刨析眼前的事物，这也更加凸显片名之妙。

关于导演：你绝对想不到，Grant Singer之前是MV导演。导演过Ariana Grande(Let Me Love You),Lorde(Perfect Places),The Weeknd(Call Out My Name),Sam Smith(How Do You Sleep)乃至Taylor Swift等的MV，而本片是他的第一部故事长片。该电影在国外论坛上多次被誉为近期最好的犯罪片之一，也确实算得上奈飞里的精品。（所以说导演认识贾老板也就不奇怪了？？？）
