由于父亲涌井勇吉（寺尾聪 饰）长年被派驻国外，儿子涌井拓郎（二宫和也 饰）经常遭人欺负，叛逆之下，成为了飙车族的成员。在一次驾驶中，因和母亲（大竹忍 饰）发生争执导致车祸发生，母亲当场死亡。得知爱妻去世的消息，勇吉伤心不已，辞去了工作，在爱妻的故乡富野良的一个森林中开了一家叫做“森时计”的咖啡厅。而拓郎则由母亲生前好友朋子（余贵美子 饰）介绍到一家叫“皆空窑”的窑厂学习陶艺。勇吉对儿子心中怀有怨恨，而拓郎也自觉无颜见到父亲。二人虽然距离很近，2年间却没有任何联系。这样的关系被拓郎偶然结识的少女皆川梓（长泽雅美 饰）所打破，而梓正好又在森时计打工。 森时计维系着勇吉对妻子的思念，也治愈着来此歇息的人群。同样的，也在无形中愈合着勇吉和拓郎的关系。温柔时刻，温暖人心。This is the story about one small coffee shop located in the northern island of Hokkaido. Yukichi Wakui used to work as a successful businessman at a prestigious trading firm. He worked for several years in New York as well as other cities around the world. When his wife Megumi died at the age of 47 in a car accident three years ago, he decided to leave the company. He was only57. When Megumi died in the accident, her 18-year-old son Takuro was at the wheel. Yukichi declined an offer to switch to an affiliate company after his retirement, and moved to Megumi's hometown Furano, Hokkaido instead. There he started a small coffee shop named "The Forest Clock." Unbeknownst to Yukichi, Takuro is working as an apprentice pottery maker in Biei-a town located 50km away from Furano.
